That stock disc with NOBEL/12/GLASGOW on it has me intrigued. I know Nobel were a Scotland-based explosives company & sold gunpowder, etc. & I'm wondering if the disc might not be the head off...

Correct Pommy. Main explosives factory in Ardeer, with part of the old real estate still in use. The base markings on the shotgun cartridge are one of many designs used by Nobel over the years. Clive.

Studying the images in detail I go with DD on the stock, it is off a MKIII, but everything else looks ok, the proofs are Enfield, and, the barrel proofs do look convincing, not those poorly bashed out...
